Chapter 01
Storage bought before anyone measured
It usually starts with a good intention and a shopping trip. A set of shelves or a closet kit comes home, goes up, and before long it's full of the wrong things in the wrong places. The shelf is too deep for the cans and too shallow for the bins, and the rod sits at a height that suits nobody in the house.
Nobody decided what the space had to hold, who would be using it, or how often. Storage bought without those answers is guesswork, and guesswork tends to end in a second round of buying. The space ends up looking organized for a week and working for no one.
Design Solutions starts from the opposite direction. We figure out what the closet, pantry or garage has to do for your household first, and only then decide what goes into it.

From the first consultation to the final touches
Design work follows the whole arc, from the initial consultation to the final touches. We work in Lake in the Hills and across McHenry, Kane and DuPage counties.
Then we plan the space in zones. In a pantry, that might mean everyday items at reach, bulk goods up high and baskets for the small loose things. In a closet, clothes hung by type, sweaters folded in cubbies and shoes in one low row. In a garage, tall tools, seasonal bins and sports gear each get their own stretch of wall.
The design is tailored to your home's specific needs and aesthetics, so the finished space looks like it belongs to your house as well as working for it. It's collaborative, your preferences lead, and we adjust the plan until it fits the way you actually live.
Chapter 03
A plan you can maintain
A designed space should keep working through ordinary life, long after the day it's finished.
Because every zone is built around how your household uses it, the system is easy to maintain. Each thing has one home, and putting it back takes no thought. A new hobby or a bigger grocery haul doesn't break the plan, because you only adjust one zone. That's the difference between a pantry that stays in order and one that needs rescuing every few months.
When a closet or pantry starts overflowing again, that's the cue for a reset, and often a small adjustment to one zone is all it needs.
